McCleery Equine Veterinary Services is a mobile equine practice looking for someone who's confident around horses and ready to learn the rest on the job.
Our work happens in the field — on farms, beside the truck, one horse at a time.
We're a small, ambulatory equine practice. Most days are spent riding out to clients with a veterinarian, caring for horses where they live. Veterinary experience helps, but it isn't required. Safe horse handling, professionalism, and a real willingness to learn are what matter most.
A day on the truck
What the work actually looks like
No two farm days are the same, but they tend to move in the same rhythm.
Load out
Stock and check the truck before the first call — instruments, supplies, and equipment ready to roll so nothing slows the day down.
On the farm
Handle horses safely during exams and procedures. Your job is to keep the patient calm and everyone around it safe — the part of this work no one can do without horse experience.
Hands on
Assist the veterinarian with diagnostics and treatments — anticipating what's needed and having the right thing ready before it's asked for.
On the road
Drive the veterinary truck between farm calls, keep clients updated, and help the day's appointments run on time.
Wrap up
Clean and restock the truck, then log the day's records — entering lab results and completing health submissions on the computer. Roughly one partial office day each week covers team meetings, inventory, and projects.

Who we're looking for
What you bring
- →18 or older.
- →Confident, safe horse handling. The non-negotiable. Barn work, training, or husbandry all count.
- →Comfortable driving a large truck on rural roads and into farm properties.
- →Excellent with clients. Friendly, professional, dependable.
- →Sharp attention to detail. Medications, dosages, and records have to be right, every time.
- →Comfortable with basic computer work. Entering lab results and completing health submissions.
- →A genuine willingness to learn.
We can teach you the rest
If you already have strong horse handling skills and a great work ethic, we'll teach you the veterinary medicine. Almost everything technical about this role is learned on the job.
